Databases and Caches. If this, then why that?
Why use caches, when we already have databases for storage!
Background
Your friend wrote an exciting story about how Loki and Deadpool entered into a conflict related to a new girl in the town, but then Superman came to rescue, and finally got all the superheroes together. Initially you kept it in your laptop, but then you wanted to share it with others.
So then saved it in the institute Database with the name as ‘Story.pdf’. Now all your friends got interested in the story and wanted to read it. So they all rushed to download from the institute Database.
Turns out, all your college friends loved it, and shared it with their friends, and now your Story is viral. Everybody is dying to read it, from all around the country. But your institute database cannot handle such a huge traffic. Due to the massive outreach, now the website couldn’t download anything from the Database, not even the attendance sheet
It is a database outage!!
The Dean picks you up for this issue, since it was your idea to share it to the public which has brought havoc to the institute Database.
How will you resolve this issue? Want to know more about scaling?
